Does YOUR Business Have a Great Website?

making critical decisions, answering service for medical professionals, dispatchers, virtual receptionist , voice mail, live operators, 24 hour answering service,
Guess how most people find you these days? Do you give up? It used to be they let their fingers do the walking and they found you in the phone book. But virtually no one under the age of 70 uses as phone book any more. They use their smart phone or their tablet to find what they are looking for.

Increasingly, there are also local Facebook goups who build pages where local consumers can go to get recomendations on where to go for dinner, who the best carpet cleaners and who to use for marketing. So if you don’t currently have a website, people who want to recommend your services can’t post a link on these pages.

Not having a business website raises questions in customers’ eyes. Are you technologically challenged? Or such a shoestring startup that you can’t even afford to do this? All things you don’t want people thinking about your business.

It’s all about credibility in the marketplace. Your small business will gain credibility by having a website. Without one, potential customers will go to your competitors that do. If you already have a website but it is “home-made”, having it professionally redesigned will provide your business with a professional image which will inspire even greater confidence. For home-based businesses, this is particularly beneficial since you do not have a storefront to promote your products or services.

Still don’t believe that a website can benefit your business?  In the U.S., consumers spent $453.46 billion on the web for retail purchases in 2017, a 16.0% increase compared with $390.99 billion in 2016.  Retail ecommerce sales are forecast to grow at a fast pace in the coming years, growing to just over 684 billion US dollars in 2020.

Even though you may not be a retail ecommerce type of operation, there are still plenty of opportunities to attract new costumers with a great website. Remember to keep it visually appealing, not too busy, put your phone number on the home page and please, unless you are a graphic designer, don’t build it yourself.
